Pipes – interactive installation

Pipes is an interactive installation, part of One Design Week’s exhibition Being Post Digital. As you can see it consist of old metal pipes, wires (not visible), LEDs, photo resistors (LDR) and Arduino Uno board. My idea was to made an interactive game-like object. When someone approach the object he/she can place his hand on one of the holes and LED will shine in another hole. Unfortunately some problems come up while I put the pieces together: 1st – I wasn’t allowed to put instructions and 2nd – the place was too dark. So I was trying to setup the right values in the Arduino code and suddenly the installation become so sensitive that now there’s no need to touch it. You only have to pass by it and you will see the lights. Video coming soon!

“Come here!” installation

“Come here!” is an Arduino-based installation. It is basically a glove and a servo motor inside and when the servo rotates the index finger bends. My idea was to represent a basic hand gesture which is “calling” you to come and see something. It’s part of an exhibition held in Goethe institute, Sofia until May 10th 2015. I’ll upload a video soon!

Distance cube

This is one of my latest projects. Its inspired by Binary fingerprints video, but this time I made it myself….and I used a different sensor. The cube is 5.5 x 5.5 x 5.5 cm and is made with cork and felt. On one of the sides there are two circle holes where the sensor is placed. The Arduino board is hidden somewhere 😀 For the visualization I used a processing code downloaded from the Internet and I changed it a little bit according to my needs.

Binary fingerprints

During my stay in Sweden, me and my colleges - Jun Yoshida, Jess Stubenbord, Laura Schipien and Marianne Larsen, made this prototype of a geometric object which was suppose to "collect" the fingerprints of those who interact with it. We used Arduino, Processing and some sensors during our work. Video coming soon!
